    They inhabited the thermal springs and their extensions in the high parts of Anatolia a long time ago. Their length is 14 cm. is around. Garrarufa is the type used in the treatment of these fish, which are known to have several species. Garrarufa shows its effect as a therapist by cleaning the dandruff tissue (keratosis tissue) that occurs in the skin in psoriasis. Some studies have revealed that these fish secrete an enzyme called Dithranol while cleaning wounds, and this enzyme normalizes skin regeneration and prevents abnormal rapid cell division. These fish live in thermal waters with an average pH of 7.5 and a temperature close to 35 degrees. Their life span is 2-2.5 years. Garrarufa is on the red list of endangered animals (IUCH).
